EXPERIENCE
Prior to founding SCP Investment, LP, Sandy was the manager, principal owner and Chief Investment Officer of Apex Capital, LLC, an SEC-registered investment advisory firm that he founded in 1995. Apex Capital managed multiple private investment funds and separate accounts, primarily for institutional investors, with AUM of more than $1 billion.
Prior to Apex Capital, Sandy was a general partner of Pacific Equity Management, where his responsibilities included portfolio management as well as acting as that firm’s Director of Research and Chief Operating Officer.
His earlier professional experience includes positions as a senior research analyst with various buy-side and sell-side institutions, including Wells Fargo, Hambrecht & Quist and Osterweis Capital Management.
EDUCATION
He received a B.A. degree in Political Science and an M.B.A. degree from the University of California at Los Angeles.
